Audrey Stephanie Lo Talking colour Task 1
Task 1
Chinatown reminds me of my hometown — HongKong , especially the colourful lanterns and the entrance of Chinatown.
The traditional iconic architecture and the experience in eating one of the restaurant that I eat spicy fish fillets the fried pork with chilli that I felt the warmth and the spiciness bring me through because I like spicy food. Besides, I get most of my inspirations from the lanterns and entrance because the lanterns remind me of the mid-autumn festival. Having mooncakes and dinner with my family members gather together to share the happiness and warmth.
Also, the difference between my home town and UK is the weather. Since the weather of London is totally different ,the changes and shapes of the leaves turning into yellow brownish colour. What I capture on the street which is really eye-catching because it is hard to see it in Hong Kong. Therefore, I did some drawings in different colour I saw and what I feel to express it with colours and texture. And try different mix media.

I really like the theme that you’ve chosen and how you organized the pages. It makes everything clean and easy to understand. Also, I really like how you experiment with different media and the objects that you’ve drawn. For example, the entrance of China town, it’s a great watercolor drawing and I like how you layered with a picture of the entrance of China town by using photoshop. The color of the drawing gave me a retro vibe which I really like. Moreover, the texture drawings of rain and leaves fall are beautiful. I can see you’ve used multiple media to create different textures and shapes, which is really inspiring. Everything is great, I think you only need to try drawing from a different perspective. For task 2, I enjoyed looking at every page of your works. I can see you have tried different drawing styles and media. Your texture drawings are beautiful and I like how you collaged a picture with orange paper, and on top of that, you have done some interesting drawing on it. Which they work really well together. Also, it’s great to see that you have developed a lovely color pallet that inspired from your research. Moreover, I enjoyed the abstract drawing that you did for the last two pages. It definitely shows how precisely you’ve been observing the shaps of the Sushi and creatively turn it into a pattern.
