I found talking colour challenging in subject matter, as I have been in self isolation for the duration of the project, but I used this opportunity to look for colour inspiration within the people around me. I tried to experiment with my palettes and sizes, as well as using coloured backgrounds, all of which I think worked well. I prefer the tonal coloured pieces to the block and line colour, and I think I prefer the pieces where I oversaturated the colours for a bolder effect rather than being very realistic. The task was challenging for me as I had limited coloured media and I found myself drawn most to paints as I could mix my own colours and tones, and move away from the bright saturated colours of the pencils and pens. Overall, I am pleased with the outcomes of talking colours but wish there was more variation.
