Avni Batra: “Ways of seeing”/ “Talking Pattern”
Doing the ‘Ways of Seeing’ and ‘Talking pattern’ task was a great learning for me as I learnt to see an object and a place in many different ways. The project changed my perspective of looking at things. For the project I created my own pictures and drew them on paper using mix media. I was amazed with the texture of a broken trees and walls and tried it with mix-media on paper. Further I developed different patterns using various materials like newspaper, coffee, beads, threads and paints. What I enjoyed the most in the project was creating the pattern portrait using almost all colour mediums on one paper. In the whole project I used quite a few techniques such as dripping, doodling and block printing. If I could do the project again, I would include more colours in my patterns, and try repeat patterns. The project was of immense help to me in broadening my horizons.
