The main purpose of this task is to use the colors in the painting to consider and respond to my observations. I used watercolor, gouache, markers, crayons and other medias to paint lotus, church and lake, etc. I used different medias and techniques to draw the same object lotus, and got different colors and textures.
In the process, the use and exploration of crayons had progressed smoothly, therefore I got different textures and colors easily. However, the use of watercolor was somewhat difficult, and the paintings were not successful enough. Further when I saw multiple objects in the same scene, it was difficult for me to sort out the information needed to be expressed. A quick way of drawing may be a good way
Through this mission, I have a deep thorough understanding of paper characteristics which can help me complete the exploration better. Moreover, I get some understanding of different texture expression through different media.
I still need to continue to explore more possibilities of gouache and learn more painting techniques like gouache. It is more important to learn the observation methods of other artists. I would try to paint on the medium processed by myself. Just like a paper crumpled and then smoothed to get specific texture.
